About Us
We are a family church made up of people from different races, backgrounds and cultures. We have experienced substantial numerical growth in recent years. This is because we preach God’s Word uncompromisingly and truthfully; the messages being related to daily living are both positive and practical.
We have a lively worship group that accompanies both the modern worship songs as well as the more traditional (but no less lively) Redemption hymns.
We are sure that you will find something at Elim to make you feel part of the family.
The Deaf
We have a loop system for the hard of hearing and also signing for the deaf (British Sign Language) at the three main weekly meetings.
Children
We have ample provision for children and young people and we have a purpose- built crèche with viewing facilities and amplification.
The Junior Church is continually expanding and all our children's and youth workers have been checked with the Criminal Records Bureau.
Evangelical Alliance
Elim Blackburn is a member of the Evangelical Alliance.
The Evangelical Alliance was founded in 1846 and is the oldest alliance of evangelical Christians in the world. The Alliance is an umbrella group representing one million evangelical Christians in the UK and is made up of member churches drawn from over 30 different denominations, organisations and individuals.
Why Elim?
The name 'Elim' is taken from the book of Exodus where we read that the Israelites came to an oasis in the Sinai desert, where there were seventy palm trees clustered around twelve wells of water (Exodus 15.27). To the traveler who was hot, thirsty and weary after a long journey across the desert, it offered both rest and refreshment.
The Elim movement nationally has approximately 600 Churches ranging from small groups recently launched to the 3000 strong Metropolitan Church in Belfast and the 17,000 strong Kensington Temple in London. Internationally, the Elim Missions Department reaches into many countries and continents. It supports work in Central America, Asia as well as Europe. In Ghana alone there are some 2000 Churches, which are attached to the Elim Fellowship.

And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
