Evangelistic Weekend with Henry Olonga - 18/09/2011

From Friday 16th until Sunday 18th September, we held an evangelisitic weekend with Zimbabwean test cricketer Henry Olonga.

In 2003 Henry made international headlines by wearing a black armband during a cricket World Cup match as a mark of protest against the policies of the Zimbabwean government. Consequently, Henry was forced to flee Zimbabwe from impeding threats.

Throughout the course of the weekend, Henry ministered by preaching, sharing his testimony and singing.

Friday evening was devoted to outreach, Saturday evening was a joint-youth event with the youngsters from Living Waters church Chorley, and Henry preached at both services on the concluding Sunday.

In preparation for this event, around 4000 leaflets were distributed throughout the area.

4 Baptised - 03/07/2011

We held a baptismal service this evening where four candidates were fully immersed in water in accordance with the Lord's command (Mark 16:16) to testify of their faith in Jesus Christ.
Prior to being submerged, each gave an oral testimony of their salvation account before a full congregation.
